What once was old becomes new again. In this case, a former Spitball client came back to us to develop the identity for their new business. Ricochet Kids is a second-hand toy store where toys are refurbished and reimagined into affordable, play-ready pieces to help reduce plastic waste and give old toys new life.
Spitball revisited our wildest childhood imaginations as we embarked on dreaming up this brand. Many vintage toys (and memories) were at our creative fingertips as inspiration during the process. One toy in particular struck a chord for us and the company mission. What goes around, often comes back around time and time again to bring endless joy – and what better represents this idea than the iconic boomerang? The classic toy became the basis for the Ricochet logo, combining a vibrant and modern color palette, which reflects the enduring vitality of well-loved toys, with custom typography to create a fun and whimsical brand.
Armed with branding and a playfully eye-catching motif, Spitball developed a Shopify website to tell the Ricochet Kids story and get an array of newly refurbished toys into the hands of kids near and far. Searchable by product type like toys, clothing, books, and more, the e-commerce website was created for users to find the perfect gift for their little ones.
